The most common reasons for not getting your GPS device on-line

When you try to connect your device with GPS, please ensure that the following conditions are satisfied:

▪  First verify that your device is supported by SmarterPing, as listed in the supported devices.

▪  Confirm that your SIM card has sufficient credit/balance and is activated for GPRS. You can test this by inserting the SIM into a cell phone and browsing some websites over GPRS. (Note: Some operators may require you to call them to activate the SIM for GPRS).

▪  Ensure that the PIN code on the SIM is deactivated.

▪  Check in object list that the device IMEI is correct.

▪ Verify that you are using the correct Access Point Name (APN). Contact your operator to confirm the appropriate APN for your SIM, as operators may occasionally change APNs.

▪  Check if a username/password is required for the APN.

▪  Allow the device some time to acquire a satellite fix; this process may take some time and is best achieved outdoors with a clear sky.

▪  Confirm that the device has a network connection (GPRS status is usually indicated on most GPS devices).
