How to change a user's password in SmarterMail?


If you cannot remember the password to one (or more) of your email accounts, you can change the password using the Primary Domain Administrator user.


Changing your own User Password

1. To change your password, logon to the SmarterMail web interface through URL: mail.yourdomainname.com with your user ID and password.

Note: Substitute your domain name for "yourdomainname.com" to access your SmarterMail web interface.

2. Once in the SmarterMail interface, click the "Settings" link on the left-hand side navigation menu (it is an icon that looks like gears).

3. Select "Change Password".

4. Type your Old Password (means current password) then type your New Password, Confirm Password and click the “Save” button. 

5. Password changed successfully.


Changing any User Password with the Administrator Account

1. Login to the web interface as administrator through URL : mail.yourdomainname.com and administrator user name with password.

Note: Substitute your domain name for "yourdomainname.com" to access your SmarterMail web interface.

2. Once in the SmarterMail interface, click the "Settings" link on the left-hand side navigation menu (it is an icon that looks like gears).

3. Click to expand the "Domain Settings" folder.

4. Click "Users".

5. Right-click on the user you need to change the password for and click “Edit”.

6. On the next screen, go to the field marked "New Password" and enter the new password. Then enter the same password in the "Confirm Password" field.

7. Click "Save" button at the top.
