SmarterMail now has a built in chat. This can be used by all users of the same domain to keep all communication internal. Any chat client that support this protocol can be used with SmarterMail.
Follow these steps to connect SmarterMail chat to Digsby:
1. Open Digsby.
2. Click the lightbulb icon (Jabber account) to add an XMPP connection.
3. In the Jabber ID field, enter your SmarterMail username. For example, user@example.com
4. In the Password field, enter the password used to log in to SmarterMail.
5. Click Advanced.
6. In the IM Server field, enter your SmarterMail Server address: mail.yourdomainname.com (Substitute
your domain name for "yourdomainname.com")
7. In the Port field, enter the port number : 5222
8. In the Resource field, enter a word that is unique for all of your other clients
9. Select the Use TLS if possible checkbox.
10. Select the Ignore SSL warnings checkbox.
11. Select the Allow plain text login checkbox.
12. Click Save.
